Green Chemicals & Fuels from CO2
Oakbio Inc. is the creator and developer of a breakthrough biotechnology-based process and proprietary microbial platform for cost-competitive manufacture of sustainable non-petroleum derived chemicals and fuels to address society’s most pressing industrial and environmental needs.
Oakbio aims to lead the new business of green chemicals & fuels production, answering the worldwide needs of petrochemical substitution and CO2 capture.
The growing world population needs increasing availability of low cost chemicals to maintain and increase their living standard. In a sustainable environment, these chemicals will be produced without using petroleum oil, without increasing CO2 levels in the atmosphere and without diverting resources from human food.
In a single-step production process in a bioreactor, our proprietary micro-organisms capture and convert CO2 into valuable chemicals. CO2 is the sole source of carbon used to “feed” our micro-organisms.
We have demonstrated that our microorganisms and process are adaptable to an industrial setting where waste CO2 from flue gas is used as the sole carbon source feedstock.
Our process makes various valuable chemicals using CO2 as carbon source. We have selected several product opportunities in specialty and commodity chemicals.
